One could tell, from the very beginning, that Mikey Maramag’s unique project was gonna be a success. He began his career in California’s hardcore scene, as the drummer of a couple of bands. Maramag has developed an extraordinary sensibility, a gift for painting intangible landscapes of electronic music. Halfway between M83, Aphex Twin and Four Tet, Blackbird Blackbird’s last album, Tangerine Sky, was good enough to get a place as one of the best albums of 2014. This second album has taken Maramag’s project, with only 4 years of existence, to the top ten most promising talents.
